Knight Classical is delighted to announce Hannah von Wiehler for worldwide general management. American-born and Russian-raised, Hannah is a trail-blazing young conductor, representing not only one of the most refreshingly free-thinking and excitingly entrepreneurial musical voices of her generation, but also one of the brightest – conversant in English, Hebrew, German, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, and Russian.

For nearly two years, Hannah served as the personal administrative assistant to Valery Gergiev, as well as Director of Special Projects for the Mariinsky Foundation of America. She undertook formal conducting lessons with Leonid Korchmar, and now receives generous coaching from Jessica Cottis and Karen Kamensek, as well as participating in masterclasses with Paavo Järvi, and continuing her close relationship with her ongoing mentor Valery Gergiev.

Hannah is the Founder & Music Director of the Oxford Alternative Orchestra – an ensemble dedicated to the intersection of classical music and social impact – and held the position of Assistant Conductor to the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra (2018-2020). Most recently, she created The CHRYSALIS Project – a multi-national initiative connecting internationally renowned film-makers, choreographers, composers, and music – in response to the COVID19 pandemic. Forthcoming highlights of Hannah’s diary include engagements with the Royal Opera House (London), The Grange Opera Festival, and the International Symphony Orchestra Lviv, as well as numerous orchestras throughout Russia.
